Makhuntseti Falls are in 30 km. from Batumi, in the mountains of Adjara. These falls are known among visitors, it is possible to bathe in its cold waters. Such “natural” shower is the rejuvenating means for an organism. Water flows go from 20-meter height, and below under falls there is a stone bowl where guests take curative baths.
It is possible to approach falls on ancient Makhuntseti Bridge which is laid over Acharistskali’s river. There are different versions about stories of construction of this bridge. Follows from one sources that the bridge was built by the Venetian and Genoa builders, and from others the version — the bridge was designed even before reign of the queen Tamara, in the XII century. The bridge consists of rocky stones which are fixed by limy solution. Such bridges periodically reconstructed and strengthened within centuries about what tell new layers of stones. Length of foot part of a construction makes 28 meters, and arch height over water — 6 meters. Such bridges are very reliable as in mountain areas often there are earthquakes.
